Sensei / Guro Glenn Genovas

For over 30 years Glenn has been involved in martial arts. In those years he has achieved rank in the arts of Jiu Jitsu and Pekiti Tirsia Kali. Glenn started his martial arts training in 1982. He received his 1st degree (Shodan) black belt and Instructors Certification in 1986 under the tutelage of Master Bob Malvagno of Kobe Martial Arts. He received his 2nd degree (Nidan) black belt in 2006 under the direction of O’Sensei Joseph Puleio of the American Jiu Jitsu Centers. Glenn started his training in Pekiti Tirsia Kali in 2008. Under the tutelage of Tuhon Tim Waid of PTK-SMF, he was certified as an Instructor of the Military Edged-impact Weapon Close-Quarters-Combat System in 2011, and obtained the rank of Lakan Guro in 2012. He also has training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai & Kick Boxing.

Glenn has been involved in coordinating live martial arts demonstrations since 1984. From 1984 – 87, he participated in Jiu Jitsu demonstration teams throughout Long Island. Glenn trained public safety officers and organized demonstrations for local community groups and schools in Pennsylvania in the 90’s. He was a member of the American Jiu Jitsu Demo Team at the 1998 Arnold Classic in Ohio, where his team placed 4th in their first appearance at this international competition.

In the past 4 years, Glenn’s work has jumped onto the screen. He was a fight coordinator for “Splinter Cell Extinction”, a mini-series developed by Bob Cammisa & Dennis Donovan on IGN’s START YouTube Channel. He portrayed a Splinter Cell agent in several fight scenes. He was also the fight coordinator for “10 Years Later”, a short film by Jeff Collins, in which he played the role of the assassin. In 2014, he choreographed fight scenes for“ Try a little Tenderness”, a short film directed by Sabrina Liu & Casey Sincic, in which he played the role of the training partner. He was fight coordinator and played the role of the murderer in “Untitled”, a fight scene directed by Robin D’Oench. Glenn currently teaches his knowledge of martial arts in New York City.
